Thank you for seeking feedback.

My sense in all organisations is: quality always triumphs over quantity.

When in doubt, go for less meetings … with the best possible event at each.

A good weekend to all,

From the Chairman of Council to all members of the Kipling Society's Mailbase.

As we do from time to time, Council has decided to review our activities as a Society, and to ask all our members for their views about possibilities for the future. If you have time to consider the questions below and send us any thoughts, by the end of March if possible, this will be most helpful. Please email to [log in to unmask]">[log in to unmask]
We currently have five meetings each year, including the AGM, at which we have a talk on a Kipling-related subject by an expert in that particular field; host an annual luncheon in May, addressed by a distinguished speaker; publish four editions of the Kipling Journal (plus occasional extras); maintain the web-site which includes the New Readers' Guide; support the Kipling Library at Haileybury; and offer prizes to schools for Kipling-based writing. We also support occasional conferences and study days in the UK and overseas.
Which of our present activities do you find most useful?
How can any of them be improved?
Can you suggest other activities we could usefully develop?

John Walker, Chairman of Concil

You may receive this message by other means (the Chairman's e-newsletter, or the Journal, or the web-site). These are merely 'belt-and-braces' channels to ensure that we reach all our members somehow.
