medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

I happen to be Greek Orthodox. How much of a time period constraint do you
want on this? These sorts of things appear in books called Euchologia,
which are sort of practical "junk drawer" prayer and blessings books for
priests. There are fragmentary mss from the MA, but very little until well
after the Studite liturgical compilation and reforms of the 9th-12th
centuries (in fairness, the overall liturgical practice hasn't changed much
since then). There is a good *euchologion *available in English in four
volumes, published by St. Tikhon's Seminary, so it follows the Russo-Slavic
tradition, but it's used extensively by English-speaking priests in the
Antiochian and Greek Archdioceses in the US. You would probably find volume
2 most valuable.
