My department (Sociology) at Umeå University is recruiting a permanent full professor in sociology.

The position guarantees 40-60 % of full-time (dependent on performance) research time as well one semester sabbatical every fourth year. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the research and development of the research environment at the department by conducting research as well as teaching (minimum 20 %) and supervision at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The Department of Sociology hosts undergraduate and postgraduate programs in both Sociology and Library and Information Science.

Research within the department covers a variety of areas. One of the groups is Digital Sociology (http://tinyurl.com/huuwzz6) which is part of the interdisciplinary centre for digital social research, DIGSUM (http://digsum.umu.se).
