Dear Colleagues,

Film@CultureLab is the home of film practice at Newcastle University. Based in Media, Culture and Heritage within the School of Arts and Cultures, Film@CultureLab is a new state of the art centre that houses our two new UG programmes in BA (Hons) Film Practices and BA (Hons) Film and Media. We are seeking an external examiner from 2017-18 to support the development of these exciting new programmes

The BA Film Practices and BA Film and Media programmes recruit a total of 50 students per year. Both programmes are based on theory and practice, and assessments include traditional written student enquiry as well as a range of creative non-fiction film practices. Thus, a familiarity and background in film theory, history and practice based pedagogy is important. Documentary film history, analysis and theory are key areas of learning, and knowledge in these areas would be essential.

We would welcome applications from those interested in helping us continue to develop our distinctive offer and ensure the programmes continue to offer excellent teaching and learning for our students.

For particulars and expressions of interest, please first contact the Degree Programme Director, Dr Alastair Cole, [log in to unmask]
