Hi Phil, The only way you can do this via a website in any kind of automatic way is using Eddystone beacons which requires that the browser supports the Eddystone-URL extension. The only browser that supports this is Chrome, so your visitors will need to install Chrome before they can use the service, which probably defeats your goal not to require anything downloadable. You'd need to install beacons that support this format (most do these days) at locations around your venue. You could go for something more manual that requires users to input a code of some kind for a specific location to access new content, though I'm not sure the experience would be particularly good for users. It's possible you could achieve something using different wifi access points that showed different content, though again it's hard for me to imagine how you'd provide something users would gravitate to. I seem to recall Mike of these parts saying he'd done some experimenting with Wordpress and Raspberry Pis, perhaps he could share how that's progressing as it may be of some help for what you're trying to achieve. Frankly the requirements you've outlined suit an app far better than a browser, though I'm dreadfully biased on this point :-) Best regards, Nick On 1 February 2017 at 12:48, Phil Blume <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Hi MCG > > Can anyone suggest a website that includes an interesting interactive tour > of the inside of a building and that doesn’t require and additional > downloadable components to function? > > Criteria… > > I’m looking for a website, not an app > > It should have a tour of the inside of a building > > The tour should have some location-specific content for users who are > inside the building > > The tour should also have value for users who are not at inside the > building > > The tour should not rely on GPS or downloadable components to provide the > location services > > > Many thanks. > > Phil Blume > Technical stuff > > The Brunswick Town Charitable Trust, > a charity registered in England, No. 1012216. > > Place of business: > The Regency Town House, > 13 Brunswick Square, Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, BN3 1EH, UK. > Telephone: +44 (0)1273 728128 > > Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/A4TpgMaoCVE2 > > For tours, events and volunteering see: *http://www.rth.org.uk/ > <http://www.rth.org.uk/>* > For local history research see: http://www.mhms.org.uk/ > For silhouette history see: http://www.profilesofthepast.org.uk/ > > Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/regencytownhouse > twitter: https://twitter.com/rth_brighton > > **************************************************************** website: > http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ukmcg > Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/museumscomputergroup [un]subscribe: > http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/email-list/ > **************************************************************** -- Nick Clarey CEO, Airsource Ltd. @airsourceltd Phone: +44-1223-708370 **************************************************************** website: http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ukmcg Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/museumscomputergroup [un]subscribe: http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/email-list/ ****************************************************************
