Hi
We use wordpress and shopify for bristol museums. My our approach is having 2-3 products on key pages (pulled in from shopify) eg exhibition pages then everything else points to shopify shop. We tried your idea but found that most people found shop either via
google or main link to the shop. We only stopped using the default shopify theme once we had made the cash from the shop to prove the investment worth the return. I don't know about your search tradffic internally but we chose not to have any search as we
couldn't do it well enough. The biggest sales uplift has come from using facebook ads or tweeting.
Why shopify?
Because it starts at $9 and they have had over $2B in sales so I figured they knew what they were doing. It has a great api, documentation and fanbase to get ideas and help. Including pos we put about £600,000 through it in last 12months. Online shop is only
£4000 of this but worth the effort.
We also use shopify pos in the bricks and mortar shops too.
Hello all,
We currently use Shopify for our online shop and will continue once we open. This sits separately from our overall website. We have limited budgets and need to find out the most cost effective solution that will help make sure our products visible and
encourage sales.
Are there any better WordPress plugins?
For smaller organizations what do you use for your online shop and how did you come to that.
Any advice or guidance is always and greatly appreciated.
All the best
Rachel
