The Map Curators’ Group (MCG) of the British Cartographic Society will hold its Annual Workshop in County Durham on Tuesday 5 September 2017

The venue is Redworth Hall Hotel (DL5 6NL) http://redworth-hall-hotel.h-rez.com/ and the Workshop is part of the pre-conference programme of the British Cartographic Society - Society of Cartographers joint conference http://www.cartography.org.uk/product/maps-for-changing-reality/. The MCG may also arrange a visit on the morning of Wednesday 6 September.

The MCG workshop theme will be:

"Unfolding the map: presenting your map collection to new audiences"

The organisers are calling for proposals for presentations to be given at the Workshop on a relevant theme which might include:

• Digitisation and online availability
• Growing functionality and range of users
• Crowd sourcing
• Events for new audiences
• Marketing to new audiences
• Training using online applications
• Attracting and connecting with new audiences

Presentations will be given on Tuesday 5 September at Redworth Hall Hotel, should last approximately 30 minutes, and are generally made using PowerPoint.

with your proposal by Wednesday 15 March 2017.
