The Wallace Collection at Hertford House in Manchester Square is famed for its Old Master paintings (including 18th century French painting), furniture and porcelain, plus a world-class collection of arms and armour

The Library, initially created for the museum's curators, reflects the scope of the collections - particularly French painting and decorative arts, medieval and Renaissance decorative arts, porcelain, arms and armour  and the history of collecting.

It comprises around 30,000 books, including periodicals, exhibition catalogues, and auction sale catalogues and also includes (on long-term loan) the De Walden collection, consisting of rare fencing books from the 16th to the 19th century.

The visit will include talks on the history of the library and archives followed by a tour of the library.

Tea and coffee will be provided after the tour.

There are ten places available.

There is no charge for this visit.
