Hi Keith I suspect you're going to get a similar response from most libraries - lack of class number browsing and borrowing facilities means that these particular features will need an LMS available as a secondary front end for a while yet, and as a back end for numerous functions for considerably longer. With regards to filtering by format, I think there is a problem with limiting by format per se, in that you can't limit to print only but on ours you can filter by location, by which you can choose a physical one (but sadly I think you can't select any/all physical locations simultaneously, or limit to ignore all online). Ebooks, however, you can limit to, or to online/full text only so if that's what you're after then, yes, you should be able to manage it. If you want to limit to combined ebooks AND books then you can do that too - limiting by type to books gives you that result. If you haven't got those functions set up, I suggest you contact Ebsco. I am looking at ways to more fully exploit EBSCO Discovery Service as it could save us buying a post search filterable catalogue interface. I have added our library catalogue as a source database and can search it on its own, but the mapping of things like Location, Shelfmark, Loan status, I do not understand from a first inspection. Also, I would like to turn up hits for ebooks only alongside print copies in our collection but I do not see how to do this either. I would be very interested to discover how any one else has made better use of this facility especially if you have chosend it as your main catalogue interface. Thank you.
