Hours per week : Part time, 0.5 FTE (1 year and potential for extension)

 

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Kou Murayama on an interdisciplinary project on human curiosity (intrinsic motivation), learning, and decision making funded by European Commission and F.J. McGuigan Early Career Investigator Prize.

 

This exciting project provides researchers (especially MSc or post-undergraduate level researchers) with a unique opportunity to examine cognitive, metacognitive, and neural factors underlying the human intrinsic motivation, learning, and decision making, using behavioural experiments, survey methods, and/or neuroimaging.

The successful candidate will have a variety of duties (and this is also training opportunities) including programming experiments, preparing study materials, and collecting and analysing data. Preference will be given to the candidates who showed motivation or intention to become a PhD student of the principal investigator in the future.

 

The Research Assistant will:

* Program experiments using E prime/Matlab or php/java script.

* Develop experimental materials.

* Be responsible for running participants to collect data in behavioural and online experiments.

* Run participants with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).

* Conduct statistical analysis using R (or Mplus).

 

This is a part time, fixed-term contract from March 2017 (start date is

negotiable) for 12 months and potential for extension.
