Hi Julie

We are like Nicky in that I have a ‘smaller’ room and put students in there.  If they have real issues I also offer to put them at the back of the room near the door etc (sometimes the offer of back of the room even works for the large room seating 300).   I have a couple of students in individual rooms but these are for medical reasons – sudden and unexpected with no warning collapse so to prevent the domino effect stick him in a single room.  So far – not one single incident J.   We also go down the route of normal way of working and this eliminates lots of requests straight away.

Regards

Anna

Hi Julie

We use the term smaller room.  Most of our venues are small with the exception of the Gym so doesn’t really cause us too much problem.  We do run rooms with 3 – 6  for those ALS that specify smaller/separate room.

The only students in a completely separate room would be those with scribe needs.

Subject: Separate Venues

I am struggling to get our Student Services team to agree to an internal process and ask our students to provide evidence if they want to sit their exams in a separate venue.   I really feel that we need to ask students to provide this so it is put in place for the genuine students.

Has anyone got any suggestions/ideas/advice?  I’m at the end of my tether with it all!
