Subject: Review of External Examiner Fees

 

Dear Colleagues

 

We are currently undertaking a review of our external examiner fee structure and I would be grateful for any information on how other institutes pay examiners.

 

We have Subject Area external examiners and Award Board external examiners.  Subject Area examiners are paid by the module; Award Board examiners are paid a set fee per annum; all examiners receive a retainer payment in addition to this.

 

If you can share any information about the fee structure followed at your institution we would be very grateful. I can circulate the anonymised collated information to interested parties also.  Please email [log in to unmask].
