Berlin Department of Philosophy and Humanities Institute for East European Studies (OEI) Professorship in Comparative Literature focusing on Slavic Literatures salary grade W 3 reference code: 160100 The successful applicant will cover the area named above in research and teaching. The teaching load will be split by 50% between the Department of Philosophy and Humanities and the Institute for East European Studies. Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz). The candidate will have a focus in the area of Russian Literature and Culture, a profound comparative research profile as well as an identifiable interest in literary theory and cultural theory. She or he will have experience in acquiring funding for, and carrying out, sponsored research. The selectee will have excellent language skills in Russian and a second Slavic language. Additionally, she or he will be internationally visible through her or his research and teaching, and will have published in peer-reviewed journals. The appointee will collaborate in international large-scale research projects as well as graduate programs at the Institute for East European Studies and the Peter Szondi Institute of Comparative Literature. She or he will be particularly interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, especially within the disciplines represented at the Institute for East European Studies. Duties will include academic self-administration and contribution to Freie Universität Berlin’s internationalization strategy.
