Summary of Role
De Montfort University's Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility (CCSR; www.dmu.ac.uk/ccsr) is offering the position of a Research Fellow Ethics and Cultural Learning in Robotics.

The CCSR is the UK's leading research centre in responsible research and innovation, in particular in the area of computer and technology ethics. The CCSR is among the leading research centres in Europe and the world. The CCSR is home of the long-running ETHICOMP conference series and edits the Elsevier Journal on Information, Communication and Ethics in society. The CCSR currently comprises ten academic members including two professors. It runs the Information Society Doctoral Programme (ISDP) which currently hosts approximately 20 research students.
The Centre formed part of the successful submission to the 2014 UK Resarch Excellence Framework to the Unit of Assessment 11, Computer Science and Informatics.

The CCSR has served or continues to serve as coordinator of three EU projects and as partner and WP leader in several further ones, including the EU ICT Flagship Human Brain Project.

This Research Fellow post is funded by the European REELER project, an exciting interdisciplinary, project, involving 4 European partners which will develop the ETHICAL ROADMAP for responsible robotics. REELER (Responsible Ethical Learning in Robotics) funded by Call: H2020-ICT-2016-2017 (Information and Communication Technologies Call).

The post-holder will carry out up to 6 six-week fieldwork studies in different European sites (2 of which can be in the UK). The post-holder will visit research labs, robotics companies and end-user locations (where these robots will be, or are put to use).
