I have recovered fragments of spider crabs (Hyas araneus) from a Mesolithic midden (4,964 - 4,813 cal. BC) on the west coast of Ireland and i was wondering if anyone knew of any other records of their presence on prehistoric sites along the Atlantic coast? The site has also produced large quantities of perforated limpets and periwinkles which have obviously been used for bait, possibly for the crabs.

Thanks,
Emily
