Dear Albert,

Not quite the area you were after, but I have used the following publication’s proxies for a range of species in the past. It does have some penguins in it, but I have never done these. I did find a little adjustment was needed e.g. I compared a few different types of geese and different calories/meat weight publications and made the decision to change some of the values depending on which species I was looking at. But I found it a useful starting point and got some useable reconstructions out of it. If you are interested, I have a small section comparing different bird biomass/calorie/meat weight techniques in my thesis, which I can point you in the direction of.

Dear all,

 

I am searching data about biomass weight, calories and/or meat weight of South American birds and penguins. In particular, from the area of Tierra del Fuego. I want to calculate the potential contribution of birds remains to the consumption of a site. I am also looking for body and wing length dimensions (I am using the Handbook of Avian Body Masses for the masses). 

 

Could anyone help me on with this topic?
