Dear Scottish Museums colleagues,

ICOM UK and NMDC, supported by the British Council and Natural History Museum, will hold the fifth Working Internationally Conference on Thursday 2nd March 2017 at the Natural History Museum in London.

This year's conference takes the pulse of working internationally in a post-Brexit world. What issues will UK museums face in the months and years ahead as the UK seeks political separation from the EU? How can we maximise the opportunities and manage the challenges ahead of us?

The Conference will offer a range of distinguished speakers on the issues and the practicalities, as well as workshops on forming, sustaining and managing successful partnerships. The day will be a mix of sharing experiences and discussion.

Key note speakers include Michael Dixon (Director of the Natural History Museum) and Richard Evans (Director of Beamish Museum).

International speakers include Fionnuala Croke (Director of the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin) and Laurie Barriol (EU Funding Consultant at Inspire EU).

You can view the full programme at: https://2017workinginternationally.eventbrite.com

The day starts with registration and refreshments at 10:30 (main programme from 11:00) and finishes at 16:15.

Two special initiatives will also be launched - a travel fund for UK partnership projects with greater Europe (a collaboration between ICOM UK, Heritage Without Borders and the British Council) and a template international touring exhibitions contract (a collaboration between ICOM UK's Working Internationally Regional Project and the British Council).

Tickets are £45 including lunch and a delegate pack. For more information and to book your tickets, visit Eventbrite:

For those of you who will also be in London for the last WIRP Workshop on Wednesday 1st March at The British Library (https://wirp_workshop_bl.eventbrite.co.uk) we are organising an informal working internationally meet up in a pub close to The British Library from 5pm on Wed 1 March. Anyone attending the 2017 Working Internationally Conference in welcome to join us. Information about the meet up will be sent to delegates in February.

Thank you and I hope some of you will join us at the conference,
Dana
