Our current Call for Expressions of Interest is inviting academic researchers to apply to use our datasets and other data services. Further information is provided below along with a link to the form you will need to submit by Friday 27 January 2017 in order for your application to be considered as part of this call.

We hold data relating to our research streams<http://www.blgdataresearch.org/research/>: local economic growth, support for vulnerable people, public access to green infrastructure and methodologies for big data. The data are held for the purposes of research which has the potential to benefit society and any academic researcher can apply to access them if certain criteria are met.

Richard Skeggs, Business Data Manager at the Centre, said, "We offer researchers from academic institutions new opportunities to access a variety of data in full accordance with legislative requirements and data owner's stipulations in a safe and controlled way. Whether you are looking for open, safeguarded or controlled data we can help you access it. Within the Centre our data storage and access systems mean we are able to hold and provide access to data which researchers are unlikely to be able to find anywhere else."

You can browse the data we have available in our Data Portal<http://www.blgdataresearch.org/data-services/data-portal/> with metadata available for all datasets. Open data can be downloaded straightaway (there's no need to complete a form) or you can apply to gain access to safeguarded or controlled datasets by registering your interest using this form<http://www.blgdataresearch.org/data-services/eoicall/>
