Dear science communicators,
There's a lovely event coming up which is aimed primarily at early career researchers in ecology/environment, but is certainly open and relevant to science communication. It's at Oxford Town Hall, 2nd February, 9-5, with refreshments through the day and lunch provided. Also an opportunity to talk to various science groups such as Zooniverse, Freshwater Watch, etc.
I will be leading an interactive session on the wellbeing of citizen scientists and community building. There will be several other sessions - described below.

learn from experienced researchers in the field, such as Prof. Muki Haklay (UCL, co-director of the ‘Extreme Citizen Science’ Research Group) and Dr Michael Pocock (CEH,senior scientist at CEH). The workshop will provide both theoretical and practical knowledge
about the use and benefits of citizen science in environmental sciences. The training will take participants through techniques and goals of developing a citizen science project, including project design, recruitment and retention of vo
