The Worldwide Antimalarial Resistance Network's (WWARN) advocacy and communications efforts encourage and secure important engagement from researchers and clinicians across the malaria community. The Communications Team play a critical role in supporting the Network’s research activities which are designed to have a long-lasting impact on public health.

This is a great opportunity to lead the WWARN Communications team, and to become part of the newly-formed Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO). The WWARN Head of Advocacy and Communications is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction, as well as day-to-day implementation, for WWARN’s communications and advocacy activities.

You will have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject (such as a CIPR/CIM Diploma, MBA, or MPA) with management experience in an international setting in communications and/or advocacy programmes. You will have the ability to lead, motivate and engage with others at a senior level in the UK and internationally and be able to understand complex academic projects and communicate key messages to specialist and non-specialist audiences. You should also have significant experience of working with researchers, development professionals and/ or academics. Fluency in French, Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage, along with knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector.
