Dear all,

I thought this opportunity may be of interest to some of those on Psci-com – If you have any questions regarding eligibility then do get in touch off list:

The British Council in France manages the ‘Science in Schools’ programme, which involves UK-based researchers or engineers visiting French schools to deliver interactive, engaging and hands-on science workshops IN ENGLISH.

We are looking for people/teams to run new workshops in 2017 throughout France, in primary and secondary schools. You will need to be available for one full week and, ideally,  be a researcher or an engineer or a Ph.D. student with a science background. Your workshop proposal must have been tested and approved in the UK, the Terms and Conditions of the workshops being:

-          The British Council, through the French Ministry of Education funds, will pay for travel, accommodation and subsistence for a UK team (each of a maximum of 3 people, plus any products or materials needed)

-          The workshops will take place in English, and must include hands-on activities and visual presentations if needed for a class of French pupils aged most likely between 9 and 11 (primary level) or 14 and 18 (secondary level). 30 pupils per session is an average.

-          The duration of workshops must be between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the level -  there may be between 9 (secondary level) to 14 (primary level) workshops per week in total.

-          Workshops will take place within a local authority (an “académie”). Travel within the authority will be organised for the team.

-          Researchers will be accompanied by a British Council staff member.

If you are interested in taking part, please either contact [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] so that we can then send on the brief form that needs to be completed. Deadline for expressions of interest: 15 January 2017
