Thanks to everyone who has sent me suggestions on and off the list - I'm really appreciative that you've taken the time to do so.

In terms of the audience, it's very broad (different ages, different backgrounds) hence the wide nature of the question!

I can perhaps narrow it down a bit - I'm especially keen to know if there are any studies that show the impact of studying science - does it affect how school leavers feel about certain topics? Does a solid scientific education affect the choices people make? Still quite vague, but if there's anything out there I'm sure this mailing list is the place to find it!

All the best and thanks again,
Jenny

Hi Jenny, hi all,
It's an old reference now, but Jonathan Silvertown's "New Dawn for Citizen Science" 2009, gives a nice overview of where the field has come from and where it was at the time of writing https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Jonathan_Silvertown/publication/26655910_A_new_dawn_for_citizen_science/links/548aaa720cf214269f1ad1eb.pdf

As others have said, the Citizen Science Association (US-based but members from around the world) is a good place to start http://citizenscience.org/ - they produce a journal and the editorial for the first issue last year gives a good overview too http://theoryandpractice.citizenscienceassociation.org/articles/10.5334/cstp.65/

Best wishes,
Sarah
