CFP 30 Years of Blue Sky Studios, February theme

Founded in February 1987 by Carl Ludwig, Eugene Troubetzkoy, Chris Wedge, Allison Brown, David Brown and Michael Ferraro, Blue Sky Studios was created to improve and develop CGI animation. It went from being a small studio with a tiny staff of innovators and little money that worked mainly on TV commercials to becoming a visual effects company that has worked on major live-action motion pictures, like Alien Resurrection (1997) and Fight Club (1999), to finally becoming a leading animation studio with approximately 600 employees that has produced box office successes such as Ice Age (2002) and Rio (2011). To mark the 30 years since its foundation, we are inviting posts looking at the work of Blue Sky Studios form a variety of perspectives.

Topics include but are not limited to:

– Blue Sky Studios’ production processes

– Blue Sky Studios’ marketing and branding strategies.

Posts of between 400 and 600 words, which discuss any aspect of the above topic are welcome. Contributors are encouraged to include clips and images to support their posts.
