Hi Margaret,

The EIUG chair Niall Rowe is currently working with Innovative to arrange load profile training to take place after this year's conference. If you have not already done so can you contact Niall on [log in to unmask] to advise him you would like 3 places on the Load Profile training so he can add them to the list of attendees.

Kind regards,
Emma

Hello Chris

Both of the sessions suggested below sound great and in addition Wellcome needs:

Advanced System Administration training for 1 member of staff.
Load table training for 3 staff.

Thanks
Margaret

Thanks, Emma, and everyone who expressed interest. It looks like there is a need to identify the training need and then match this against what Innovative can offer or put together. We were initially looking at three courses they offer:

Sierra System Coordinator Basics
Reports & Statistics for Sierra System Coordinators Sierra WebPAC Administration

What are the areas that others would find it useful to have covered?

Chris

Hi Chris,

Is this the advanced system admin training you are talking about or a different sysadmin course? If you can confirm your requirements we can certainly look at putting this idea forward to Innovative. We would need to get an idea of numbers interested so if anyone is interested can they reply back to the list initially so that the EIUG committee have an idea of demand?

Regards,
Emma

We had expressed an interest at the end of last year on some sysadmin training for Sierra, but in the end this did not take place. We have now been offered equivalent training, but in US timezones. Whilst the staff member involved is open to using the evenings for this, I'd be interested in identifying whether we can explore a European timezone option as a community of users. Are other Sierra users interested in such training? I know there is some training being organized around the conference in Liverpool in the summer (which is very useful), but the sysadmin training is more detailed and would take too long, I suspect.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris, Emma,

We are close to appointing a new library systems manager at Queen's, so may have interest, depending on the course.
