We have had the same issue. Our VI is having a college IPAD as agreed with AQA and she used it in the mocks. She wanted to use her Kindle but like your student Janet she didn't want to remove anything she held on it. As long as wifi was disabled on the kindle I don't see why one cant be used in this situation, as it is his nww. You need to ask the JCQ for guidance I think.
