We’re a Sixth Form College like you but don’t have anywhere near 75 invigilators.   How on earth did you manage to recruit that many. Do you pay well?

 

 

 

We have about 2,500 students for the summer all taking multiple A-Levels and GCSEs  (several days with 800+) taking about 20,000 exam papers.

For the rest of the year we run November and January series plus a large number of entries for the November University tests.  Every month we have a number of tests and exams mainly relating to UK and Overseas Universities including a several hundred for each US SAT test.

Keeps us busy.

 

No full-time staff are invigilators although some part-time staff are.

Below is the agenda for the last training day.  Primarily revolves around workshops so that all invigilators participate fully.  Workshops led by our very senior invigilators. (we call Principal Invigilators)

Emphasis on team building as well as knowing the regulations.

Workshop 1:  Exams in small rooms, student code of conduct (what is expected of students), using the 25% extra time book and ID procedures.

Every year I try to think of new ideas for invigilator training and am struggling to think of something innovative this year.  I wondered if anyone had ideas rather than just a presentation if they would share!
