University College Birmingham requires an External Examiner for the above programme.  Candidates are required to have a strong health background, preferably being a registered nurse or with significant health/care experience.  This top-up programme has been written for students coming either directly from the NHS or through the Higher Apprentice Assistant Practitioner routes and are therefore likely to hold substantial levels of responsibility in care settings. This contract is for four years will commence in September 2017.

The successful candidate will need to be higher education academic with experience in course design and delivery at a minimum of undergraduate level 6 and be of senior lecturer position or higher at a UK University or College.  Due to the non-availability of mentors currently it is desirable that the candidates have had previous external examiner experience.  Exam Boards are held twice a year at the end of February/beginning of March and end of June/beginning of July.  There is also an induction event being held on 30th March 2017 should you wish to attend.
