Dear
all,
We
will be holding our first informal London meet-up of 2017 on Thursday 2
February at The Owl and Pussycat on Redchurch Street, E2. In advance
of the pub, we encourage people to visit the exhibition Dzhangal at
the Autograph ABP gallery in nearby Rivington Place, Gideon Mendel’s
installation using objects gathered from the Calais ‘Jungle’. The exhibition is
open until 9pm, but we will be there 1730-1830. Further details
here:
Following
that, we will be at The Owl and Pussycat from 1900.
According to its website, the pub is ‘a proper old battlecruiser right
in the heart of the New East End’ and promises ‘vintage leather sofas by a
roaring fire’.
Shoreditch
High Street Overground station is closest, but it’s within walking distance of
Liverpool Street and Old Street as well.
PubCHAT
exists to provide a friendly forum for discussion of contemporary/historical
archaeology and welcomes all comers.
Please
contact me or Sefryn Penrose for any further information.
Yours,
James
