To complete the documentation for anyone who has a similar problem, I solved it be reverting Ubuntu to the 14.04 LTS Kernel (Trusty Tahr). CCPNMR Analysis is not compatible with the newest and most up-to-date Ubuntu kernel 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus). I am sure there is a better solution, but I got tired of digging through python code and settled with this temporary fix. Good luck with your projects!
