Dear All,

This is a very interesting conversation.

It is a great shame about FX Software.

Craig's email below regarding the pointers look equally impressive from both a VI and dyspraxic perspective.

best regards,

Sorry for a slightly off-topic question …… is there a bigger mouse arrow for use as a “pointer” in PowerPoint or can something like Bigger Cursors be used in PPT?

The site can still be accessed via the Internet Archive and as of just now, most of the download links are still working.

Hi,

Here’s a screenshot of the conditions of using/distributing FX Software:

The relevant statement reads as:

“You many redistribute these setup files freely, provided you make no charge for them and do not alter them in any way.”

Hi Alistair,

I’ve wrote to Chris last week (on a couple of occasions) but I haven’t received a reply. CALL offered to host the software but to no avail. As far as I’m aware it is still okay to redistribute locally.

As you know some of the programs are on MyStudyBar – which I updated last month, so I guess you can still get them via Eduapps. Some of the programs are also available to download from a variety of sites – but they tend to ‘spyware’ type sites which add other ‘unwanted’ elements as part of the download process.

I’ll keep you posted if I hear from Chris.

Thanks for the update Craig – agree – a sad day.

Do you know the status of the software in terms of redistribution? If we have local copies could we pass them on to other staff or learners?

For those of you who are familiar with FX software: http://fx-software.co.uk/ and goodies such as Orato, ssOverlay, T-Bar etc, the software is no longer available as the site has closed down – a great shame!
