Many thanks Richard Faculty/Services: Faculty of Medical Sciences Unit: Institute of Neuroscience Staff Category: Research Contract Type: Open Ended Hours of Work: Full Time Location: Newcastle upon Tyne You will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate in Medical Statistics within the Institute of Neuroscience with Professor Avan Aihie Sayer, Director of the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre and Professor of Geriatric Medicine. The main objective of this post will involve becoming a key member of the Ageing Geriatrics & Epidemiology Group and working on an exciting range of interdisciplinary research studies. You must have a first degree in a relevant numerical subject and MSc or PhD in medical statistics, epidemiology or a closely related subject. You will have up to date knowledge and experience of using major statistical packages (STATA, SPSS, MLwin, R). You must evidence that you have scientific writing and analytical skills and have the ability to analyse and interpret complex data and communicate the results effectively to statistical and non-statistical team members. Applicants without a PhD would be encouraged to undertake and a complete a PhD within the timelines specified by the university’s PhD regulations.
