A two-year full time Postdoc position: Lifespan MR-imaging

The Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR) located at Hvidovre Hospital is looking for a dedicated and ambitious Postdoc within the field of MRI brain imaging and data and statistical analyses to work on the EU (Horizon 2020) funded Lifebrain project.

The DRCMR is one of the leading research centers for magnetic resonance imaging in Denmark. The DRCMR is an interdisciplinary and international research center with over 75 researchers from 20 different countries. The center was in 2014 awarded with the “Global Excellence in Health” award by the Capital Region of Denmark. For more information, see www.drcmr.dk.

The Lifebrain project consists of 14 European partners and aims to identify determinants of brain, cognitive and mental health at different stages of life by creating and exploiting a large multi-center database (N > 18000; MRI scans > 6300) of detailed cross-sectional and longitudinal information about brain imaging, cognitive function, mental health, and genetics.

The Job

The job involves among other things the development, testing, and implementation of multisite image harmonization methods, multimodal imaging processing pipelines and statistical methods for the analyses of multidimensional longitudinal data analyses.

Requirements

You should have a PhD degree and be skilled in brain image processing, handling of longitudinal data and performing statistical analyses, preferably in the field of life span imaging. You should be skilled in using image analysis packages such as FSL and FreeSurfer as well as programming e.g. Matlab, Python. Experience with writing Linux shell scripts, and the SPM and the statistical R package is a plus. Good English writing and communications skills are a prerequisite. In your work, we expect you to be team oriented, proactive, flexible, critical and structured.

Salary and employment

The successful applicant will be employed as a full-time Postdoc and will join the life span imaging team at DRCMR consisting of researchers from the Brain Maturation and Ageing and Dementia groups. The salary will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations and as agreed upon with the relevant union dependent on personal experience and qualifications. The position is for 2 years, but there may be opportunities for extension.
