OpenGov speaks to Ms. Justine Heazlewood, Director and Keeper of Public Record, Victorian Public Record Office
Could you tell us more about your role at Public Record Office Victoria?
The Public Record Office is the
State Archives of the Victorian Government. We have records that date
back to the 1830s. There’s about 100km of paper records and obviously
now there are a lot of born digital records governments created as well,
so we have a hybrid paper and digital set of archives. For
accessibility purposes, paper records are digitised so that we can
provide access for them online.
