Dear all
Like others around the country at the moment, we’re on the look-out for enthusiastic, creative scientists /engineers who’d like to try their hand at
presenting science to a general audience as part of the Oxford heats of Famelab UK. This is a UK-wide competition to find the new voices of STEM and participants are challenged to explain a concept in science, mathematics or engineering
in just three minutes without using any Powerpoint.
If you’re keen to know more about being a contestant in the Oxford heats of FameLab UK 2017, you can find more information and register yourself
at
http://www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/about/famelab/
The Oxford heats are being held on: 31st January and 9th
February from 7pm
Blackwell’s book shop, 51 Broad St, Oxford OX1 3BQ
Participants must be 21 or over.
Last year, both Oxford finalists went on to compete at national level, with maths teacher and folk singer Kyle Evans becoming FameLabUK champion. You
can watch videos of some of our fantastic performers and get a feel for FameLab
here.
