13 January 2017
Wheal Martyn
10am-4.30pm
This conference explores what diversity means for rural and smaller museums. We will discuss how museums in Cornwall and other rural regions can help contribute to and develop Arts Council England’s flagship policy, the Creative Case for Diversity, and how we can create cultural experiences that are inclusive and open to all.
What?
Through keynote presentations from inclusion and diversity experts, case-studies, plenty of opportunity for debate and discussion and hands-on practical participation, the day will provide an opportunity to explore how we can work creatively to diversify our work and our audiences.
The event has been organised by Cornwall Museums Partnership (Cornwall’s Major Partner Museum lead organisation) and hosted in conjunction with Wheal Martyn with funding from Arts Council England.
Who should come?
The conference is aimed at anyone working, volunteering or running museums in rural regions, especially those interested in visitor experience, learning and collections development. It is also for organisations or individual practitioners that currently work with or would like to work in partnership with museums.
