Hi all,

Apparently the strange messages were written by an individual rather than a bot, so they passed the spam filters. We'll delete them from the archive to avoid future confusion. If it happens again I suspect our response should be compassion for the poster rather than panic (but still keep using that delete button).

It seems that the original messages were filtered into spam by gmail and some other clients, so as Jeremy said, it would be really helpful if people reported strange posts, as we mightn't have seem them.

We've emailed the jiscmail service team to ask them to investigate how the message slipped past their normally quite strong spam filters. We'll post when we have a response. In the meantime, please bear with us and delete the strange messages.
