We're aiming to develop a new collection search available via the website manchesterartgallery.org. The current collection search is a bespoke API solution utilising Elasticsearch and a one-off export of data from our EMu collection management system, hosted on a Linode server and presented via our Wordpress website (http://manchesterartgallery.org/collections/). It works effectively but it’s not synchronised with live data from our EMu collection management system and its data is increasingly out of step. Additionally, its bespoke nature means that it’s not keeping pace with EMu’s (Axiell’s) development pathway which would prefer the use of the IMu API (http://imu.mel.kesoftware.com/doc/api/php/). We’ve already done a good deal of the preliminary research and data mapping and we have a kind of ‘ideal scenario’ for the finished product in mind. We’d like to hear from developers interested in working with us to get us as near to that ideal scenario as our available budget will allow. If you'd like to discuss this further, please get in touch with either Martin Grimes, Web Manager [log in to unmask] or John Peel, Collection Information Manager [log in to unmask]. Thanks.
