I have just received a rather forceful email from the ICO regarding a Councillors’ notification that I have not renewed as they are no longer a Councillor.

This is the first time I have received a ‘threat’ from the ICO for not renewing (usually it lapses and that’s the end of that and no bother from the ICO).

Is anyone aware of a change of ‘policy’?

It is a shame they were not so interested in an organisation I reported to them who had never notified but was processing my personal data by electronic means. Perhaps it’s just easier to try and penalise those they already have a notification record of.
