Whilst the issue (of the name) may appear somewhat trivial at first glance, I do think that given the vitriolic nature of some publications and the propensity of certain 'flag waving' elements to encourage violence in both word and deed should not be underestimated. I'm strongly of the opinion that the colleague in question here is highly likely, if they haven't already, to be the target of serious and unwarranted abuse that can in no way be considered to be reasonable in the circumstances. I would certainly be recommending a strong response from the LA.
