Please see attached results on this case. Any thoughts on whether due to excess dietary iodine intake (she had been taking Dulce for many years) or factitious hyperthyroidism ?

Hi Elinor,

I would suggest measuring serum thyroglobulin as it will be suppressed in factitious thyrotoxicosis and high in other causes of thyrotoxicosis.

Regards

Mohammad

Subject: faecal thyroid hormone

Dear Mailbase
An endocrinologist would like to obtain a faecal thyroid hormone measurement on a patient which may help to provide formal proof of factitious thyrotoxicosis. Does any lab offer this test ?
