I've bought cheaper MP3 models and it's was a disaster (twice). Extremely unreliable. In the end, I upgraded it ipod shuffles for reliability and long term use as well as simplicity of design. In the long run, cheaper! They all come with earbuds so I just buy some disinfectant wipes to clean them before each use. People can use their own if they want of course.
