In the context of the next Research Excellence Framework and changes to teaching in UK higher education suggested by the White Paper on HE the BSA Sport Study Group is staging a workshop on Research and Teaching in the Sociology of Sport. There will be brief 15 minute talks in the morning on the state of the sociology of sport in the UK and a panel workshop in the afternoon session.
The confirmed speakers/panelists are: Jayne Caudwell, Jon Dart, Mark Doidge, John Horne, Dominic Malcolm, and Kath Woodward.
The Sport Study Group has limited funds and so must ask for a fee for participants, with a reduced rate for BSA members. We are unable to reimburse your travel expenses so you will need to obtain support from your institutions to cover travel to attend.
