This is very true - but hydrogen and hydrocarbons are very different gases.
Nonetheless, I should have been clearer, so accept my apologies and a
correction: it's eminently *possible* to build hydrogen gas distribution
systems, but it is not and likely never will be *practical* to do so. (Let
alone affordable or safe, which are equally significant obstacles.)

And as for fuel cell research, well, hey, they're still funding the fusion
people too, right? ;)
