I think it is Georgina in the Facebook group who entered into lengthy conversation with them about this and received a clear email saying OH were exempt.

Hi list
I had read the proposal for this, it looked very focused on beauty therapy for ie Botox to me.
How this stretches to incorporate OH I cannot see.
As a small Ltd company I'm worried. I comply with all NMC regs who are my governing body and HSE refs so cannot understand why they lump us together with beauty therapists.

Subject: Re: [OCC-HEALTH] Regulation of independent clinics in Scotland

Hi Karen and list

I had heard about this but thought it was more for aesthetic nurses. As I work in Glasgow for an in-house OH service, I'd be interested to hear if this is indeed something that we should be registering for. Our team is UK wide but we only have one site in Scotland.

I couldn't see any OH specific scenarios in the link.

 Thanks

Hi list, especially those in Scotland.

I remember some months ago a discussion on jisc on the regulation of independent clinics in Scotland and the implications for OH providers or other models of OH provision. I have just read the latest newsletter from the NMC on this http://www.healthcareimprovementscotland.org/our_work/inspecting_and_regulating_care/independent_healthcare/regulation_of_clinics.aspx and wondered how it has affected any on the list who have had to comply with this regulation.

Can’t help but think that this may come to England and Wales.

Karen
