*Call for papers (articles). Revista Quadrivium.* “The age of José Serrano (1873-1941): music, culture and society” *In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the death of maestro Serrano* *Quadrivium *is an annually online, peer-reviewed journal, published by Associació Valenciana de Musicologia (AVAMUS. ISSN 1989-8851). The journal accepts submissions for research articles in any field of the musicology: historical musicology, ethnomusicology, sociology of music, analysis, organology, iconography, etc. The journal is addressed to scholars and students in musicology and its aim is to unveil new studies in musicology. http://avamus.org/quadrivium/ Following the success of the “XI Jornades de Musicologia AVAMUS” held in Valencia (5th March 2016), the journal *Quadrivium* is pleased to announce a issue for the 2017 on the topic of the study day: “L'època de José Serrano (1873-1941): música, cultura i societat” (The age of José Serrano (1873-1941): music, culture and society). Editorial board is accepting submissions for the issue 2017 that will be published in second quarter of the year. The issue also will include articles concerning music, culture and society of this time, as well as contributions by participants in the study day. Some of these central topics would be: the Opera world in the early 20th Century Spain; contacts and opportunities for musicians in this period; the piano and chamber works; institutions and music-spaces; the music of other contemporary composers and reception of the Opera in Valencia; the crisis of Zarzuela between 20s and 30s 20th Century; Serrano case studies and other composers; functionality socio-political lyrical theatre and the political connotations of music; music criticism, economics, programming and theatres; the effect of the music of this period nowadays and the criteria for recovery, adaptation and republication of some works, etc. Articles can be written in Catalan, Spanish or English according journal editorial guidelines (http://alturl.com/wzt8p). Authors must provide an abstract with no more than 600 words and keywords. The editorial board also recalls that *Quadrivium* accept other musicological proposals which will be part of the *Miscel·lània* of the issue. Editorial guidelines are the same. Deadline will be 31st January 2017.
