The Song Collectors Collective brings you the annual SCC Gathering 2016, a celebration of the art of song collecting. This unique event brings together diverse singers, academics and collectors for unique talks and discussions at St Mark’s Church in Dalston, London. The Gathering will be followed on the same day in the same location by the The Nest Collective’s second UnampliFire festival featuring performances from some of the finest singers and storytellers working in the oral tradition. It will be a day of phenomenal stories, experiences, lives and melodies.

As in previous years the Gathering will have insightful talks on various aspects of song collecting from esteemed invitees such as raconteur Hugh Lupton, ethnomusicologists Angela Impey and Shzr Ee Tan, Wren Music founder Paul Wilson, ethnobotanist Sarah Edwards and the prolific folklore archivist Doc Rowe.
