APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING

Sue Hill Recruitment is currently working with a North London public library service to recruit multiple contract vacancies:

Stock Librarian

This job is with a North London public library service which is recruiting a temporary Librarian to join the team for four months to start ASAP.

The Stock Librarian will be responsible for stock circulation into and out of the library service’s central book repository. The job will involve using branch library usage profiles to review how library stock should be distributed throughout the borough. You will supervise two library assistants who will help ensure library stock is transferred into and out of the repository quickly and sent on to the right branch library as required.

This job would suit a qualified Librarian (or equivalent library experience) with substantial experience of collections management, weeding library stock and overseeing how stock is selected and distributed throughout the library. Previous experience working in a public library would be advantageous. Most importantly the job requires a Librarian with an understanding of how to identify which stock will be well received by different user groups throughout the library service.

This job would be an excellent opportunity for a Librarian who enjoys a job which focusses on collection management. The job would also suit someone who understands how an effective approach to library stock selection/distribution can improve the user experience for members of the public who rely on the public library service for their various reading needs.
