Hi Karen
I don’t have an answer for you but I am equally interested to hear what plans other people have if any.
Our RFID kiosk supplier has said that they don’t yet have an update for the new £5 notes and it may be several months before it’s ready. We’re already starting to see plenty of the new notes coming through. As
we will have to pay the supplier to apply the update, I’d certainly want to avoid multiple visits if possible. We’re told that part of the problem is around the configuration information being released to suppliers.
Regards
John

Subject: new £5 and new £1 coins
Hi there
I am interested in some feedback from colleagues about whether we should amend our self service kiosks to take the new £5 notes or wait until the £10 notes appear next year.
The old £5 notes will stay in circulation for quite a while. I don’t think adjustments to machines will allow both types of notes to be taken. The same is true for the new £1 coin.
The bank of England expect 50% of £5 notes to be the new polymer type by Jan 2017.
Any thoughts welcome.
Kind regards
