The Know @ Oldham Sixth Form College is offering the exciting opportunity for talented information professionals to join the award winning and high achieving Learning Resources Team.
Learning Resources comprises of 'The Know', which is the college Learning Resource Centre/Library and 8 Study Areas. The Know is an exciting university style integrated learning environment offering over 250 study spaces in a variety of types and additional provision, including RFID and a study garden.
Learning Resources Facilitators (Officer) - 4 posts - Closing date is Monday 14th Nov 12 noon.
To commence January 2017, 2 x Full time, Full year, 2x Full time, 39 weeks
Salary Points 23 - 27 of the Sixth Form College's Support Staff pay spine, currently £18,718 - £21,384 per annum pro rata for term time posts.
The successful candidates will provide high quality guidance and support to students and staff, on an individual or group basis, on the use of learning resources, digital platforms and information technologies.
The post holders will work with the Learning Resources Manager to maintain a smooth day to day running of the Learning Resource Centre (The Know). This will involve advising and guiding students and staff in the use of a range of learning and digital resources. You will need to assist with the development of learning materials and the creation of the range of digital resources, to support a curriculum area and actively engage with learners to ascertain their learning/ study needs. The roles will also involve administrative and clerical duties as well as help desk work. You have should excellent IT and literacy skills and be able to communicate with staff and students to provide a customer focused service.
Working hours are 7.20 per day (36.40 weekly) to be worked between 8am and 5pm, Mon to Fri, with 2 Saturday's per year (Oct/Nov only).
