Piero Bargellini, Florence the Magnificent: a history. It’s in the BL. 4 volumes should keep you busy.

Paoletti’s work on the war has been translated as An art city at War. I was in Florence for the 50th anniversary of the flood and saw that he’s joined forces with Mario Carniani to produce a book which deals with Florence at war and Florence in the flood. It’s called Florence, War and Flood, publisher ATS, 35 euros (9-788868-758585).

Buon lavoro
